Biography:

Peter Wood joins Taft’s world languages department as a Spanish teacher, bringing with him over three decades of experience in both independent and public school settings. Most recently, he taught Spanish at Jonathan Law High School in Milford, Connecticut. Prior to that, Peter served as a teacher, coach, and mentor at several independent schools, including Westminster, Salisbury, and Princeton Day School.

Throughout his career, Peter has held a variety of leadership roles, including Department Chair and Director of Summer Programs. He is also a seasoned racquet sports coach, having supported junior varsity squash and tennis programs, and most recently served as the head varsity tennis coach at Jonathan Law for the past three years.

A graduate of Choate Rosemary Hall and the University of Connecticut, Peter is a passionate educator committed to fostering cultural understanding, language proficiency, and meaningful student engagement. He lives in Madison, Connecticut, with his wife, Lind, and their Springer Spaniel, Sebago. They are the proud parents of four grown children: Patrick, Molly, Caitlin, and Riley.
