A native of Long Island, NY, Rob was an accomplished scholar-athlete for two years at Milton Academy, where he was a member of the 2011 Elite 8 Tournament championship team, before captaining the team as a senior. After Milton, Rob attended Yale University where he was a two-time All-American, three-time Ivy League champion, and contributing member of the 2013 National Championship team. He graduated from Yale in 2016, as the most decorated defenseman in program history, with a B.A. in Economics. Drafted as a 5th round pick by the Boston Bruins in 2011, Rob made his professional debut in 2016. Over the course of six professional seasons, Rob played in over 200 games between the NHL and AHL. He was named an assistant captain by the Hartford Wolfpack and the Hershey Bears during his respective tenure with each team before retiring in 2021. After his playing days concluded, Rob returned to Yale where he served as an assistant coach for five seasons. At Yale, he coordinated team defensive systems, individual defenseman development, and spearheaded the program's recruiting efforts. Rob will be joined in our community by his wife, Isabel, and their two children, Maeve and Rowan.
