Mr. Steve Palmer
Steve began teaching at Taft in the fall of 1985 and has taught a variety of courses from lower mid English to a range of senior electives. He is a longtime coach of cross country, ice hockey, and track, having played hockey throughout his life and having competed every season in cross country, indoor and outdoor track throughout college. A Class Dean for ten years, he now serves as the Associate Dean of Faculty, working closely with new faculty and teaching fellows during their first two years at Taft. Nearly every afternoon, Steve can be found in the office with students conducting paper conferences, giving grammar extra-help, or out on the fields and local trails with the cross-country team. Steve and Karla (math department) live on campus and spend their summers in the woods of southern New Hampshire, working on their 1834 house, running the trails, and supporting local conservation.
