Mrs. Edie Traina
A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Edie is a graduate of Shady Side Academy and Wesleyan University, where she received her bachelor’s from the College of Letters and Master of Arts in Liberal Studies in social sciences. At Wesleyan, Edie was a four-year letter winner and captain of both the field hockey and lacrosse teams. Before joining the Taft faculty in 2006, Edie worked at Carney, Sandoe & Associates and then at Holderness School, where she served as the history department chair, dormitory head, wilderness program leader, and the varsity field hockey and varsity lacrosse coach. At Taft, Edie has served in various roles. In addition to teaching history, she has been dormitory head of Congdon House, dean of the lower mid class, and associate dean of faculty. In 2015, Edie was appointed dean of faculty. Edie's husband, Mark, is dean of students, an admission officer, and history teacher. They live with their two daughters in Meyers House.
