Ms. Jillian Danaher
Prior to arriving at Taft, Jillian was a Spanish teacher at Northwestern Regional High School in Winsted, Connecticut, teaching Spanish levels I and III to grades 8–12, and tutoring homebound students in Spanish. She attended Salve Regina University and received her Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. While at Salve Regina, Jillian was a member of the varsity field hockey team for four years and captain for one year. She was named to the Commonwealth Coast Conference All-Academic Team for three years and was a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society (the National College Athlete Honor Society). She was inducted into the Sigma Delta Pi Spanish National Honor Society, named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-Academic Team for four years, and was the recipient of the Knights of Columbus Award for outstanding achievement in the Spanish major. Jillian was also a member of the Salve Regina Environmental Club and Senior Challenge Committee, and spent a semester abroad in Seville, Spain. She earned a master’s degree in Spanish from Middlebury Language Schools. At Taft, Jillian teaches Spanish, serves as Mid Class Dean, coaches field hockey and softball, and is the head of Vogelstein where she lives with her husband, Kevin, a math teacher at Taft.
