Biography:

Originally from Mumbai, India, Sachika came to Taft after an exceptional Juniors squash career, where she was a 3-time Indian National Champion, and achieved a Top 4 finish at the Asian Championships. At Taft, she was an exceptional scholar-athlete where she was twice crowned the New England Individual Champion.

Sachika then attended Trinity College (CT), where she received a double BA in English (creative writing) and film studies. Sachika was named to the NESCAC All-Academic Team, and was a Shakespeare Teaching Assistant. During her college career, Sachika achieved an overall individual record of 55-11, and was a member of the 2014 National Championship winning team. As a standout student-athlete on the perennially top-ranked team, Sachika was also recognized multiple times for her leadership and commitment, winning several team awards and being named a co-captain for her senior year.

Following graduation, Sachika has enjoyed a successful professional playing career on the PSA World Tour, attaining her highest world ranking of #112 in September 2020. She finished in the Top 4 at the Indian Nationals in 2018, and again in the Top 4 at the Pacific Toyota Cairns International in Australia in 2019. Sachika has also coached at clubs both domestically and in India.

Since joining Taft’s faculty as Head Coach for the Boys’ Varsity Squash team in 2022, Sachika has led the team to have some of its most successful finishes in Taft’s history. In her first two seasons as head coach, Taft climbed from 24th to 7th in the country and from 7th to 3rd in New England. This year, the team had its best ever finish in the country, earning 4th place at the 2025 High School Nationals and taking 2nd place in New England.
