Golf - Girls' JV
Overview
Overview
The girls JV golf program was established in 2012 and has continued to grow in numbers since then. There is a wide range of ability on the team, from novice golfers to more experienced players. Competing in match play duel-matches allows the golfers the opportunity to practice their on-course skills, including golf etiquette, while getting to know competitors from other schools. Practices consist of working on consistent swing technique, chipping and putting, and course management. Taft JV golf's home course is Watertown Golf Club, which is adjacent to campus and is a competitive yet manageable 18-hole championship course. Taft students are permitted to play for free year-round, and tee times are set aside in the spring for Taft interscholastic teams.
The JV golf team is focused on three things: improving each player's golf skills, understanding the rules and etiquette on and around a golf course, and instilling a lifelong passion for golf.
