Taft improved their record this afternoon, playing host to Berkshire School and sending them home with a loss. The visiting Bears came out strong and a solid defensive line kept Taft out of the net for the first 24 minutes of play. Liv Santini opened up the scoring for the Rhinos, receiving a pass from Claudia Vira, eliminating a defender in the circle, and lifting it past the keeper. Taft maintained offensive momentum and tallied another with just 27 seconds remaining in the first half. Taft’s second goal started with an interception from Corinna Dorr in the defensive end, finding Eva Baurmeister through the midfield, and outside to Liv King, who found Abigail Hano in our offensive end and drilled a shot to the corner from the top of the circle. The second half was scoreless, several opportunities for both teams—Jenna Guglielmi made two critical saves in net off of breakaways—and Taft held on for the win. The Rhinos will be back on the road Saturday against Choate.
