The Rhinos traveled to Simsbury this afternoon for a Founders’ League matchup with Westminster. A defensive battle, neither team could find the back of the net. Taft was on their heels early, the offensive pressure from the home team was consistent and the Rhinos could not generate any attacking momentum. A quick time out helped to put the Rhinos back in the right mindset but both teams would head into halftime scoreless. The second half proved to be more offensive for Taft, with six different players earning shots on net and a few near misses. Scoreless at the end of regulation, Taft prepared for a ten minute overtime. The overtime proved to be back and forth action on both ends. Two cards for Taft lead to a shortage of players but the defensive unit was able to hold strong; Taft’s second scoreless overtime of the season. Jenna Guglielmi had sixteen saves in net. Taft’s string of road games continues with a trip to Northfield Mount Hermon on Saturday.
