Ethel Walker School
Win 2-1
The Rhinos picked up another Founders’ League win this afternoon with a victory over Ethel Walker School. The play was back and forth in the first half, Taft generated a few quality scoring chances and tallied four penalty corners. Claudia Vira put Taft on the board first, with an assist from Eva Baurmeister on a well-executed corner play. Strong defensive play from Emma Hentemann, Corinna Dorr, Libby Dolan, and Jenna Guglielmi kept Walker’s at zero heading into the half. Claudia Vira would add another goal for the Rhinos just seven minutes into the second half, with an assist from Asia Rupert. The home team generated several penalty corners in the second half, right down to the last whistle. A goal with less than five minutes to play put Walker’s within striking distance but once again Taft’s defense held strong. Jenna Guglielmi had fifteen saves in net, eleven that came in the second half. Corinna Dorr and Libby Dolan each tallied a defensive save. Taft continues their streak of road games on Saturday as they travel to Kent for another Founders’ League matchup.
