Loss 0-1
The wind was fierce up on the turf Saturday afternoon and the rhinos' intensity matched that of the very powerful gusts. The Gunnery managed to score on a corner 7 minutes into the game, and aside from that play the girls were phenomenal at keeping it out of our defensive zone. Coco, Kara, and Valeria were solid in our circle and made Claire's job in goal easy today. Kyleigh, Vanessa, Lucy M, and Valerie were excellent in the midfield. They were great positionally, getting back to stop the Gunnery's offensive rushes and bringing the ball up the field to push towards our forwards. The rhinos had possession for the vast majority of the game. Sydney, Chloe, Spencer, and Isabelle had some superb opportunities to score. They played really well in the circle and had at least a dozen shots on goal, but unfortunately could not score. The whole team dug in to try to tie it up during the last 5 minutes and played really well as a unit. It was a fast-paced game- perhaps the best of the rhinos' season. If the girls play like they did today, the rhinos have a good shot at beating our biggest rival on Hotchkiss Day next week!
