A beautiful afternoon for Friday field hockey over on Westminster's stellar grass field. The girls were looking forward to competing after a week hiatus in our game schedule. Isabelle Johnson, Lucy McGinnis, Kyleigh Voity, and Spencer Diamond held a strong forward line. The midfielders showed tenacious efforts with Valerie Thomas, Chloe Meuse, and Sydney Locke supporting the forwards and defense, played by Lucy Rand, Valeria D'Virgilio, and Kara Ro. Claire Welch was fearless in goal - having to face 9 defensive corners. Despite Westminster having the ball on their side of the field for a good portion of the game, the Rhinos kept fighting. A strong defensive breakaway led to a speedy connection up to the midfielders up to the forwards as Lucy McGinnis used her speed and control of the ball to drive a ball into the back of the net with less than 10 minutes in the 2nd half.
