Win 2-0
The Taft Boys Thirds soccer team hosted the Bears of Berkshire this afternoon on a chilly, sunny, windy afternoon. The teams were well matched and each had some possession during the first few minutes of the match, though the wind had even more possession than either team. Finally, Taft went right up the middle as Jin Young Min deftly assisted Quinn Hedges for a very nice goal in the thirteenth minute. The teams battled back and forth for the remainder of the half but no one could get the ball past the other side’s ‘keeper. The first half ended with Taft ahead one nil. During the second half, Taft had the assistance of the wind but both teams still spent a good amount of time in the other’s side of the field. Taft finally tallied our second goal of the match in the 74th minute as Chris Preziotti sent in a nice low shot that was initially stopped by the Berkshire keeper only to allow Joe Dayton to run on and put in the rebound. Taft ahead two nil and that is the way that it ended six minutes later. Both teams played hard today but Taft was just a little bit better. Jack Nogales played well in the back for Taft and Jesse Sarfo Brew played hard substituting into the middle. We will work on shooting in practice and then travel up to Kent to play our next match this Saturday afternoon. See you there!
