Win 3-0
Taft 3 Sacred Heart-Greenwich 0 Set scores: #1 25-10 #2 25-20 #3 25-10 Taft record 5-0 Over the last few games, I have noticed we have had some special fans come to watch us play. Today was no exception, Posey Durling's grandmother was in the stands to see her grandchild start in her first varsity volleyball game. Posey stepped in today to be our middle hitter as we were missing Mason Delafield. Posey did a fine job up at the net and scored a terrific kill. Another special guest was Kayla Robinson's brother. On the last point of the first set, Kayla's brother got to see Anna Csigirinszkij give Kayla a perfect set so that she could hit the cross court beauty to make us win the first set. Let's keep the special fans coming as it has been good for our team play in front of loved ones. Our high server for the day was Olivia Wivestad with 17 points and four aces! Addie Delafield was right behind her with 15 points and nine aces! Osi Bialunska's serve was strong and consistent as she rolled on to put 12 points up on the score board. In addition, Osi's attack earned her four kills. Sarah Katz and Zoe Kemper each had 11 service points and two aces. Their strong serving kept us out in the lead from the opening set. Anna Csigirinszkij our setter and play maker, served and scored eight points and five of those tough serves came in the final set. Our total points off our attack today were spread out among our outside hitters quite evenly. Osi Bialunska had four kills. Addie and Finley each had five kills and Kayla Robinson had eight. Today was another win for us against a good, young scrappy Class A school. We will see them again later on in the season on their home court on 10/24/18. Next up we will travel to Lakeville, CT to take on Hotchkiss for a cross town rival and Founders League match.
