Taft 3 Hotchkiss 0 Set 1 Taft 25-Hotchkiss 12 Set 2 Taft 25-Hotchkiss 14 Set 3 Taft 25-Hotchkiss 20 Taft record 6-0 It is always a pleasure to play against Hotchkiss in volleyball. I have known their past and present coach for 18 years now and these two individuals have always brought out the best in coaching. With only one official today, a number of calls came down to the players making the judgement calls, both teams displayed terrific sportsmanship. Taft demonstrated great all-round play and the defensive player of the day was Olivia Wivestad. Olivia made a number of spot on passes to our setter, Anna Csigirinszkij. Anna's assists were spread out among all of our hitters. Kayla Robinson and Addie Delafield each had 8 kills. Osi Bialunska had 7 kills and Finley Delafield had 6. This is important to note as it shows all our hitters can score points! Another front row player, Posey Durling came up with two fantastic blocks. Each one of Posey's blocks changed the momentum of the game which sparked the team to get the next point. The serving line was the happy place to be today. Our high servers were Sarah Katz and Osi Bialunska each earning 20 and 18 points respectively. Olivia Wivestad placed a number of serves down the line this afternoon and tallied 14 points. Addie Delafield and Anna Csigirinszkij each put down 8 and Zoe Kemper added 6 of her own points. This was a terrific team win. The players on the sidelines were engaged and spirited and most of all, cheered for each other. It was a fun victory and everyone contributed whether they were on the court or not. We would not be as successful as we are if it were not for everyone's hard work and effort. Next up NMH HOME at 4:15 on Saturday, Oct 6th.
