Win 3-1
Taft was able to contribute to the sweep of Hotchkiss volleyball teams today, beating rival Hotchkiss 25-11, 25-15, 17-25, 25-21. This victory capped off an incredible season with only two losses, both to a newly formed Kent varsity/jv hybrid team. Sounding like a broken record, everyone contributed to our victory today, whether they were playing or supporting on the bench. The defense was led by Tiffany Tam '20 who had 20 digs (and even one kill!), followed by Taline Almasian '19 (ten digs), Annie Segalas '21 (eight digs), and Holly Hu '21 (six digs). Ellie Ketchum '20 continued to shine as middle hitter, racking up 15 kills over four games. Setters Katy Hrazdira '22 and Caro Gura '22 both took great defensive moments and turned them into offensive plays, distributing the ball to outsider hitter Annabel Firestone '20 and middle Eugenia Torbar '21 very efficiently. Maile Kuyper '20 had her best serving game of the season with six aces over four games and great cover defense of her teammates. Keren Egu '21 was able to come into the third game and notch one kill as a middle hitter. And finally, Carter Amaden '22 provided great support of her teammates while sidelined with a concussion. There were many highlights of our season, but Coaches Duffy and Li will remember how much fun this team had with each other during practices. This translated into good chemistry during games and some great victories over difficult Founders League opponents. This was definitely a great season and every player improved their volleyball skills while working towards a common goal. We look forward to seeing all of our players continue their volleyball careers next year.
