Loss 32-24
The boys traveled to Loomis for a quad meet involving some of the best teams in New England. We fell to Northfield Mount Hermon 21-38, Hotchkiss 24-35, and Loomis 24-32. Despite this, the squad produced many excellent results. Ollie Spencer led our team with a blistering 16:53 time to place 5th overall. Close behind was Ian Staines who broke the 17-minute mark with a 16:59 and a 7th place finish. Third for Taft and 15th overall, Joey Nihill finished neck-and-neck with a Hotchkiss boy. The two collided right at the finish line, but Joey edged him out to cross the line first. Joey finished in 17:41. Robbie Accomando came through in 18:51. Mason Conto, in his debut for Taft was 30 seconds behind Robbie at 19:21 to qualify as our last scoring runner. Joe Zarif improved upon last week's run to seal 6th place for us in 19:39. Co-captain Stefan Kim rounded off the team's results with a 20:43 finish. On the JV side, our opponents were just too much for us as we fell to Hotchkiss 15-50, to Northfield Mount Herman 15-50, and to Loomis 18-41. Yuk Sum Chan led the JV with a top 20 finish n 19:38. Nate Dexter broke the 20-minute mark with a 19:56 finish to place in the top 25. Beckett Fine broke into the top 30 with a time of 20:26. Jack Kreisberg finished in under 21 minutes with 20:53. Gavin Pintro was our last scoring runner with a solid 21:07. Nick Camp (21:24) and Lance Zheng (22:09) finished off our official JV place earners. We then had a huge pack of runners who helped each other throughout the race and finished within seconds of each other. Tiger Peng (22:21), Andrew Yang (22:23) Henry Bartol (22:24), Gavin Feller (22:24), and Vanndet Va (22:25) made up that pack. A second pack consisting of Alex Peng (23:17), Mason Koziol (23:22), and Ben Weinstein (23:24) kept the fans cheering. Rafe van Wagenen (24:07), Harry Wang (24:16), and Ed Liu (28:17) were our other finishers.
