Win 4-3
GJV Tennis vs Deerfield 4-14-19 Taft 4, Deerfield 3 Today was the first spring day we have had all season. Warm (hot), sunny and no wind, in other words, a perfect day for tennis. The Rhinos traveled to Deerfield to face their biggest challenge of the season so far. This match is always a tough one and today proved that once again. All 7 matches were close and could have gone a different direction on another day. Half way through the 8 game pro-sets Taft was even or down in every match. As the Tafties got the bus ride out of their systems and settled into finding their games, their momentum grew. The first matches that came off the courts went Deerfield’s way and we found ourselves needing to win three of the remaining to clench the win. In the end, every player played better in the second half of the match than the first and showed terrific improvement from their first match a few weeks ago. Each and every player has reason to feel great about their games today. They were pushed and challenged both physically and skill wise than they have been all season. Congratulations GJV tennis, you worked hard, stayed incredibly focused and proved to be tough competitors today.
