Placed Eleventh
The XC team ran it's third strong race in a row to cap the season at the NEPSTA D1 championships at NMH. The temps were low but the sun was out and the Taft girls ran hard on NMH's beautiful but challenging 3.1 mile "true" cross country course. The varsity was led by Stella Oldakowski (37) and Charlie Brodhead (38) who ran together from the start and moved up well over the last mile. Katie Bootsma (53rd) ran a fantastic race as Taft's #3, moving up five spots in the final hundred meters, and Annabel Pick (61) and Mare Gandarela (69) rounded out Taft's top five to help the team place 11th of the 14 teams, edging both Hotchkiss and Choate for the first time this season. The JV placed 6th out of 14 teams, led by Coco Kawaguchi (22nd) and Bojana Drca (31st) who have run so well over the final few weeks. The JV race had a total of 115 total finishers and was dominated by Exeter and Andover, but Taft was a mere 20 pts. out of Nobles in third place. Milli Lydon (40), Julia Pellegrini (43) and Logan Clew-Bachrack (48) made up Taft's top five. Full results can be found at this link
