Taft defeated Porters but lost to a strong Suffield team in the first meet of the year. Conditions were tough with temps well into the 80s, so the Rhinos planned to go out in control and move up during the race. Stella Oldakowski led the way with a 5th place finish, followed closely by Annabel Pick in 7th. Charlie Brodhead, Mare Gandarela, Annie Woodward, Katie Bootsma and Logan Clew-Bachrach rounded our our varsity first seven. Though it was not a separate race and not every team had a complete JV, the Taft JV team would have won both by a score of 15-50. Sinead Connolly was the first JV finisher (15th place overall), and Coco Kawaguchi, Bojana Drca, Maggie Robertshaw and Lilly Izmirlian all finished within five seconds of each other to make for a very strong JV and team performance.
