A perfect October day, a fast Loomis course, and great competition made for personal records for many of the Taft runners. Everyone on the team ran her fastest 5k of the season, and that should come as no surprise when the leaders came through the first mile in under 5:50. It was fast from the start and all the way through. Stella Oldakowski finished first for Taft for the third straight race in a solid 21:26, for followed by Annabel Pick and Charlie Brodhead in 15th and 16th, Mare Gandarela (18th), Katie Bootsma (26), and Michelle Lian (30). Julia Pellegrini (7th for Taft) and Felicia Wang ran very well in their first races of the season, and Milli Lydon (9th for Taft), Anna Shughart, Maggie Cui and Ania Joszczyk all ran over three minutes faster than two weeks ago. While the varsity lost to all three in the team scores, the Taft JV girls won all three (T 23 LC 35; T 21 H37; T28 NMH29).
