Win 2-1
The Rhinos faced their toughest test of this young season with a trip to Suffield on the Tigers’ Parents Weekend. It was a fantastic atmosphere for a match, and the product on the pitch lived up to the hype. Both teams looked dangerous throughout the first half, but neither team was able to produce a goal through forty-five minutes of action. Sebastian Mañon and Jordan Miller led an inspired defensive effort for The Big Red, and Chris Murphy did well between the sticks. Early in the second half KK Baffour whipped a corner kick into the Suffield penalty area, and James Donaldson was first to the ball, slamming it into the back of the net to give the visitors the lead. For a while, it appeared as though that one goal would be all Taft would need to earn the victory, but Suffield drew level with a fantastic goal in the 69th minute. However, it took The Big Red only four minutes to recapture the lead. A superb free kick from Sammed Bawa put Taft back in front, and the visitors held on for a thrilling victory. Towards the end of the game, Taft got important contributions from Oury Diane, Ben Osset, and Zobran Elias to seal the win. Taft remains undefeated on the season and will now prepare for a mid-week match against the defending Class A New England Champion Berkshire Bears.
