The Rhinos extended their win streak to four games with a hard-fought 1-0 victory at Deerfield. The goal came in the 31st minute when KK Baffour served a corner kick into Deerfield’s penalty area. James Donaldson rose to meet the ball and headed it home to give Taft the lead late in the first half. The goal proved to be all The Big Red would need, as Jordan Miller and Sebastian Mañon led a strong defensive effort to keep the home side off the scoreboard. Taft created several scoring opportunities, but disciplined defending and excellent goalkeeping from Deerfield prevented Taft from adding to the lead. Deerfield also had a few chances of their own, but Chris Murphy made the necessary saves to earn the shutout, Taft’s third in four games. Charlie Shanks, Jayce Fraser, and Benas Babenskas turned in positive performances for The Big Red, who now must prepare for a tough weekend match against Andover.
