The Girls’ Varsity Soccer team traveled to Miss Porter’s on Wednesday to take on newly promoted Class A member and perennial Founders League foe. Always ranked one of the top teams in New England, the game proved one of the toughest on Taft’s schedule. The Rhinos battled from start to finish, playing a game that generated enough scoring opportunities to never feel like they were out of the game. Against an elite team, however, those chances must be converted to compete and the Big Red just couldn’t see those quality chances past Miss Porter’s. Conversely, the hosts were dynamic with their movement, crisp with their touches on a rainy day, and deadly with their finishing. While the score ended 5-0 for Miss Porter’s, Taft played a tight team game against a very talented opponent. The Big Red will look to improve against another top Class A team when Choate comes to Taft on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 2:30.
