Win 3-1
Taft defeated a very talented Choate squad by the score of 3-1 at home on Wednesday to improve their record to 4-1. The gym was loud with three games being played at the same time, so the Rhinos had to concentrate and really focus on their communication. The scores of the sets were 25-23, 25-18, 20-25, and 25-23. Every set was close and the teams were very evenly matched. The Rhinos set many goals for themselves before the match: they wanted to get 85% of their serves in; they wanted at least one block; they wanted to limit Choate’s three-serve runs; they wanted to be positive and keep their energy and communication up all match; and they wanted to have fun. Most of the goals were met, with a highlight being Angie K getting the team’s first block of the season. The Rhinos served well, passed well, set well, and hit well. Additionally, their defensive coverage has continued to improve with players knowing where to be to neutralize the attack of our opponent. The Rhinos will get back in the gym Thursday to start preparing for their matchup against Westover a week from today.
