Win 4-1
The Rhinos opened their 2021 season on the road with a neutral site game against Milton Academy. Temperatures were warm on the turf and Taft was battling early season injuries. Despite the circumstances, Taft came out strong off the first whistle. The first quarter was a back and forth battle, both teams connecting well through the midfield and unable to capitalize on any scoring opportunities. It was a penalty corner in the second quarter that put Taft on the board first. The first goal came from Rachel Turer, assisted by Maisy Ricciardelli. Five minutes later, a broken penalty corner lead to Taft’s second tally with an assist from Amelia Lancaster and a finish by Finley Davignon. At the start of the second half, Eva Witkowski added another one for Taft with an assist from Cal Ferraris. Milton answered on a penalty corner, but it wouldn’t be enough to swing the momentum. Evelyn Hidy rounded out the scoring for Taft with an assist from Ashley Wright, putting the Rhinos on top with 4 and Milton finishing with 1. Savoy McMahon notched her first career win in net for the Rhinos with four saves on the day.
