Win 3-0
In their first Founders League match of the season, Taft jumped out to an early lead over Westminster when Alexander Henderson headed home a corner kick from KK Baffour in the fourth minute. Taft doubled the lead just moments later when high pressure in the offensive end led to a Westminster turnover. The ball found its way to Baffour, who quickly found the back of the net for his second goal of the season. Though possession was fairly equal as the first half progressed, The Rhinos increased the lead to 3-0 when crisp ball movement presented a shooting opportunity for Ben Osset. His shot was saved in rather spectacular fashion by the Westminster goalkeeper, but the rebound fell to Baffour, who lifted the ball into the net for his second goal of the afternoon. In the second half, Taft possessed the ball well, but the Westminster defense, led by their hard-working and talented captains, stood firm. The Big Red forced the visiting goalkeeper into a few more excellent saves, but in the end, the match did not see another goal. Nathan Harlow had another strong showing in goal, making a few confident saves, and, once again, Sebastián Mañon, Nick Liebich, Conrad Coyanda-Parkzes, and Sebastián Mejia-Rivera anchored the back line. Ben Zirener and Jordan Grivekov both had positive impacts for The Big Red, who improved to 2-0 on the season.
