Win 6-0
The Rhinos improved to 2-0 on the year with a 6-0 victory over Greenwich Country Day School. After a slow start to the game, where the Rhinos once again enjoyed the bulk of possession, Maria Cortina Fernandez ‘23 was able to break the deadlock shortly before the half with her first goal of the season. The goal came after good combination play down the flank between Marion Ayeh ‘25 and Elle McCauley ‘25. Following the restart, the Rhinos came out reenergized, taking control of the game. Caroline Messer ‘22 finished off a pass from Taylor Adduci ‘22 after a quality sequence of attacking play, making the score 2-0. Shortly following the Rhino’s second tally, Marion Ayeh ‘25 scored her first goal of the season after Precious Novidzro ‘23 had played her in on goal. The Rhinos were almost lulled to sleep, but the ensuing GCD attack was thwarted by Maria Hogenkamp ‘23, who made a great stop to keep GCD from bringing the score within 2. Minutes later, Faith Graziano ‘24 added the Rhino’s fourth goal of the day, assisted by Marion Ayeh ‘25. Graziano ‘24 notched her second of the game from a direct freekick from distance before going on to complete her hat trick and the Taft scoring on the day.
