Win 2-1
Taft hosted Kent this afternoon for a rainy showing on Taft’s Parents’ Day. Taft controlled much of the play in the first quarter, denying any opportunities for the visiting team yet unable to capitalize in front of the net. The second quarter possession continued to sway in Taft’s favor but Kent started to see more action in their offensive circle. A defensive save from Brooke Marx just a few minutes into the quarter kept Kent off the board. Less than five minutes until the half, Evelyn Hidy found the back of the net with a free possession inside the 25. It would be Hidy’s second goal in the third quarter that would prove to be the game winner—picking off an attempted transfer and putting it past Kent’s keeper. Kent’s goal came in the 4th quarter off of a corner play but Taft was able to hold on for the remaining 8 minutes and tally another Founder’s League win.
