Win 6-0
Taft traveled to Westminster with renewed focus after a frustrating season opener. Determined to play classy football, the Rhinos set a blistering pace, dominating midfield possession and making several combination runs along the field’s width. Their goal drought did not prevail long. Before two minutes of play had elapsed, Caiel Casserly sent a cross sailing from the left flag to the right side of the net, and Kaden Parsons received the volley to his feet in acrobatic fashion. 1-0 Red. In the third minute of play, Wats Littman made a savvy pass on the ground to midfielder Brendan Staines, who ripped a well placed shot from inside of the box. Wats orchestrated another assist in much the same fashion, setting up Kotaro Wato for his first JV goal in minute 24. Wato went on to rack up a hatrick, receiving an assist from Kaden parsons in minute 47 and scoring off a rebound in minute 49. Oliver scored his first rookie goal in minute 59, placing the Rhinos at a 6-0 lead. The center backs and fullbacks coordinated admirably throughout the game, shutting down each Westminster counter attack and providing ample support to the offensive press. Likewise, the midfielders held possession, driving the ball through the center and switching either wing for offensive runs. The two keeps, Jack Eastman and Julien Prentice, commanded their players with confidence and let nary a shot sail past their domain. The Rhinos held up the pace and intelligence of their play for the duration of the game and left the field with a clean sheet.
