Loss (25-21, 16-25, 25-22, 5-25, 19-21) What an incredible first outing for the Rhinos this afternoon. After a slow start, and some first game jitters, the Rhinos found themselves down by 7 in the first set before rallying back to win 25-21. In both the second and third sets it was a back and forth battle, with KO taking the second set 16-25 and Taft winning the third, 25-22. However, KO wasn’t going down with a fight and heading into the fourth set, we struggled to serve receive against KO’s strong servers leading us into a big hole that was too large to overcome. We ended up losing 5-25 and the game was headed into a deciding 5th game. In the fifth set, KO took an early lead before we gutted it out to get to a 14-14 tie. In a true fight to the finish, Taft remained composed, while facing some adversity, and continued to push through all that was thrown their way. We showed great resilience in this last game covering our hitters, playing tenacious defense, and continuing to fight hard for every point. Unfortunately, KO came out on top with a 19-21 win. It was an exciting first match and we look forward to our double header this Saturday against Andover and Exeter!
