Kent School
Win 15-50
On a gorgeous afternoon, the boys put a damper on Kent's Parents' Weekend by exploding for a best possible score of 15-50. For the first time this season, a Taft runner crossed the finish line first as Tate Celebi maneuvered through the mountainous Kent course in 18:43. Right behind him in 18:46 was captain Jude Celebi. Third overall was Rory McNamara in 19:06, just two seconds ahead of Ali Griswold. Malin Adams took 5th overall in 19:14 just ahead of Huck Griswold who wrapped up in 19:22. Augi Booth, in 19:51, finished off the varsity scoring, and with a 1st through 7th finish, we had the best results a team can get in cross-country. Amazingly, 8th overall was another Taft runner, Trevor Stellmach in 20:46. Trevor, as our first JV runner, finished ahead of Kent's top varsity runner, showing our dominance today. Then a string of 6 Kent varsity runners came through. Eli Arroyo, 22:20, out ran Kent's seventh varsity runner to take 2nd in the JV race. This was Eli's best finish for us. Then a three-way battle came down with Jed Spencer facing Kent's final varsity runner and top JV kid. Jed finished 2 seconds behind the varsity boy and 2 seconds ahead of the JV boy, in 22:51. This gave us the top 3 spots in the JV race, which guaranteed a victory. Tonchok Dhanasarnsilp gave one of his best finishes to place 4th for our JVs with a 24:11. Sean Liao, 24:55, was our fifth and final scoring JV runner. Sean was the only runner to establish a Personal Record, and his 9th place overall in the JV race gave the team a score of 21 as Kent finished with 36. One second behind Sean was Edward Tse, and 4 seconds later, in 25 minutes flat, came Aarav Dodhia. This completed the official JV scorers. Michael Ren crossed the line in 25:20 for one of his best finishes. Rounding out our squad were Bobby Wu in 27:53, Steven Zhang (28:26), and Christian Yeung (29:51).
