The one hundred and thirty-second edition of the Taft Football team opened its season on a crisp fall afternoon in Windsor, CT, with a tough loss against Loomis Chaffee, 16-8. HIGHLIGHTS Taft’s defense limited Loomis Chaffee to under 150 yards total offense. Ro Olama ‘24 partially blocked a punt in the first half. Andre Crews ‘24 led all Taft receivers with 8 receptions for 66 yards and runners with 50 yards on 16 carries Gilbert Kimrin ‘26 hit Braden McDonald ‘24 with a pass in the fourth quarter for Taft’s first touchdown of the 2023 season. Ben Bazarian ‘25 led all Taft defenders with four tackles for a loss. NOTES Today's contest was the 89th meeting between the teams. The Rhinos host the always-formidable Trinity-Pawling under the lights of Rockefeller Field for the home opener next Saturday, September 30. Kickoff scheduled for 7 pm.
