Taft loses a heartbreaker to Philips Exeter in the driving rain 15-12. HIGHLIGHTS Taft’s defense only allowed Exeter 114 yards on offense. Gilbert Kimrin ‘26 opened up the scoring on a seventeen-yard naked bootleg. Andre Crews ‘24 forced two fumbles and consistently harassed Exeter ball carriers all afternoon Kimrin hit Zavier Carter ‘24 in the back of the endzone from 15 yards out to put the Rhinos on top, 12-7 in the third quarter. George Sullivan ‘25 and Myles Petitjean ‘27 did an excellent job snapping and punting in difficult conditions all afternoon. NOTES Today's contest was the 5th meeting between the teams. After a relatively dry pre-game warmup, the skies opened up during the coin toss and continued to rain the entire game. The weather significantly impacted the game as the pass became a sparingly used option. The Rhinos head to Wallingford, CT this Saturday, October 14, to take on perennial New England powerhouse Choate. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
