Tie 0-0
On a day threatening rain, the Rhinos traveled to Suffield to face the Tigers. The first 20 minutes saw the Tigers start with high energy and solid play testing the Rhinos midfield and back line. The calm play of keeper Julian Prentice along with the back line of Thomson Knight, Cayden Van Dolah, Anmay Suri and Abdikani Ahmed helped set the tone and keep the scoring chances to a minimum. The game flowed well through midfield for the visiting side with Liam Dhumale-Smyth, Camilo Pinto Gonzalez and Kojo Asmah all combining well to get good forward pressure. The energy of Kaden Parsons and Noah CInel helped increase positive chances for the Rhinos up on attack who looked to score. Smart play by Suffield’s keeper and defense and some misfortune on the shots meant the Rhinos never found the back of the next. Patrick Yan tried to assist Miller Masterson who headed the ball just wide of the post, Noah Cinel had a shot go off the inside of the post and bounce just out of reach of the crashing forward. While the first half looked more threatening for the visiting side, than the second, the chances still came and the final product was not there today. Taft will keep working knowing that the shots will eventually start to go in. As Wayne Gretzky said, “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.” We are creating the opportunities, the goals will follow. The boys get ready to face Berkshire at home on Wednesday.
