Win 9-1
The Rhinos met the Martlets who were missing some key players upon the field of battle on a crisp fall day. Big Red took control of the game from the moment the first whistle blew and mounted an impressive assault on the Westminster net. With only two minutes on the clock, Luca Gatti assisted Kaden Parsons for the first goal of the game. Two minutes later, Anmay Suri delivered a corner into the box, and Noah Cinel picked up a loose ball for the second goal of the match. The valiant fight of the Martlets had trouble resisting the dynamic attack of the Rhinos. Gatti netted one in the tenth minute, Noah picked up his second goal in the 15th, rookie Jonathan So scored his first goal in the 25th chipping the visiting keeper, and before the first half was up, Jack Dodd ripped a jaw dropping curler off his left foot. In the second half, Taft scored two more goals, one by Miller Masterson and the other by Kaden Parsons. The Rhinos focused on possession and building the attack. With five minutes left in the match, Westminster won a penalty kick and scored. The Rhinos reared up for one last charge, and in the final minute of play, the storied Luca Gatti put one more in the onion bag from 30 yards out. The shot sailed with grace and conviction, truly emblematic of Big Red’s game. By the third whistle’s blow, the match stood 9-1 in Red’s favor. Taft looks forward to facing Avon Old Farms on the opponent’s turf this coming Saturday.
