Taft women’s soccer faced off against Hopkins in the rain and came out victorious 8-1. The Rhinos placed six shots on net in the first 15 minutes of the game, with one goal by Ruth Amponsah ‘27 (assisted by Faith Graziano ‘24). Amponsah tucked away two more goals – one at minute 23 (assisted by Renata Mercedes ‘25) and another at with seconds left in the first half – to solidify a hat trick. Elle McCauley ‘25 scored two and a half minutes into the second half (assisted by Ruth Amponsah), signaling that they were as hungry as ever for a big win. Senior and Captain Alessia Schettino scored again just minutes later, also assisted by Amponsah. Faith Graziano sent a low drive to the side net 10 minutes into the second half. At the 25 minute mark, Annie Wagner ‘25 saw her varsity debut in net. Emma Strub ‘26 scored her first goal minutes later, followed up by Hopkins’ only goal of the game at minute 32. Graziano responded quickly with her second goal of the match at minute 38, sealing the win for Taft.
