The Taft Rhinos trekked up to Massachusetts for the second time this season to take on Williston Northampton. Rookie goalie Annie Wagner ‘25 saw her first full game in net. Williston came out strong and tucked away a goal just under the crossbar early in the game. Senior captain Faith Graziano ‘24 responded quickly, assisted by Renata Mercedes ‘25, to tie things up in just the first 5 minutes. The first half ended with each team going shot for shot. At the start of the second half, it was clear the Rhinos wouldn’t settle for a tie. They took control of their game and outshot WNH 12 to 4. At 22’, freshman Ruth Amposah drove the ball into the side net from the 6 yard line to pull Taft ahead. She repeated her calm, cool, and collected move at 35’, bringing the score up 3-1. WNH reacted under pressure and sent one more shot passed Wagner at 38’ for a final score of 3-2.
