Win 6-0
Taft traveled to Trinity Pawling for the last game of the season. Owen Palmer started for Taft and threw 4 strong innings for the win. He allowed 1 hit, 1 walk, and 2 hit by pitches with 4 strikeouts. Bolen MacKellar threw the final 3 innings and only allowed 1 hit with 2 strikeouts. The Rhino offense collected 7 hits, 2 walks, and 1 hit by pitch. Cooper Tantraporn led the offense with a single, a double, a hit by pitch, a run, and an RBI. It was a fun and successful season which wouldn’t have been possible without a hardworking and talented group of players, and the two best assistant coaches in new England: Coach Piacenza and Coach Ganung. Thanks to the parents, student managers, athletic directors, trainers, equipment managers, field maintenance team, and everyone else who made the season possible. Thank you and congratulations to the senior class: Braeden Purser-Eber (Middle Tennessee State baseball), Michael Mayhugh (Marist College baseball), AJ Martinez (Southern Connecticut State University baseball), Chattin Simpson, Tyler Krasa, and injured player Noah Pakutka (Oberlin College baseball). The Founders League coaches will vote for all-league players next week, so stay tuned to see what Rhino players are selected. The team finishes 11-8 and is already looking forward to next season!
