Thanks to a stellar defensive performance, the Taft Football team kicked off their 133rd season with a resounding victory over Loomis Chaffee. HIGHLIGHTS Taft’s defense limited Loomis Chaffee to 59 yards total offense. Thomas Regan ‘28 blocked a punt, which EJ Rochester ‘25 returned to open the scoring for the 2024 campaign. Calvin Kulik ‘25 stepped in at quarterback for an injured Gilbert Kimrin ‘26 and threw two touchdown passes. (Logan Reed ‘26 and Damon Hibbert ‘27) George Sullivan ‘25 had an outstanding day, pinning the Pelicans deep with outstanding punts. NOTES Today's contest was the 90th meeting between the teams. Today's win marked Taft's first victory over Loomis Chaffee since 2009, adding to the rivalry's storied history. The Rhinos hit the road next Saturday, September 28th, for a tough matchup against Trinity-Pawling. Kickoff is at 3:30 PM.
