On an absolutely gorgeous afternoon, Taft had a very exciting race against Williston. We witnessed the second and third best times ever posted on our course as the top Williston boy finished in 15:54. Tate Celebi took second in 16:03 establishing the fastest time a Taft runner has completed our course. Tate beat the previous Taft record by 7 seconds and his previous best by over 30 seconds. Rory McNamara took fourth overall in 17:58. Malin Adams and Will Post took 6th and 7th respectively with times of 18:01 and 18:03. This was Will's PR. Dylan Muellers took 10th overall in 18:44, breaking his PR by a full minute, to finish off the varsity scoring. We lost 26-29, but also finishing in the top 7 were Michael Xu in 18:50 and William Zhao in 18:54. On the JV side, our top finishers were Eli Arroyo with a PR of 20:05. This was Eli's first race of the season because of a major ankle injury. He had only 2 days of practice before setting a PR! Dylan Shi and Gavin Poon (21:05 and 21:08 respectively) were our next wave of runners, with Gavin setting a PR. Our final runners saw Colin Barlow set a PR with 22:25 and Colton Bass round out our JVs in 23:58.
