We had played GA early in the season at a play day and the match was pretty even. We were put on our heels when they scored within the first 3 minutes of the game. They scored about 6 minutes later and we realized they meant business. They were very quick and were beating us to many balls and intercepting our passes. But we fought really hard and did not back down. Corinna Dorr was great about stepping to the ball and trying to control the chaos that was occurring in the defensive circle. Lauren Hoey also played very strong defense and would not allow herself to get beat. Libby Dolan and Lily Senich were both given the task of marking one of their best and fastest players and they took to the task right away and helped to reduce the offensive threat she posed. Eva Baurmeister, Olivia King and Abigail Hano all had shots in the first half so we had some chances. Abigail played the tough position on the left wing but was fantastic and played so hard. She had a great shot in the second half where she carried the ball quickly in the circle and was able to get a shot off - off balance. Caeley Smith and LIv Santini connected really well and worked hard to get the ball down the right side. Phoebe Autio had 17 incredible saves with 10 in the first and 7 in the second. We played much better in the second half and only allowed one goal. The game ended on a positive note with Harley Messer picking up the ball in the midfield and we ended the game with possession of the ball.
