Win 3-2
Taft travelled to Hopkins on Saturday looking to put together a full 80 minute game against an undefeated Hilltopper squad. Taft came out of the opening kickoff focussed and put together two great halves to earn a 3-2 victory. Taft came out strong and focused. The result was a three goal first half. As she has a knack for this year, Jamie Howie '18 started off the scoring for the BIg Red just 9 minutes into the game. Howie's individual effort beat the Hopkins defensive line and her shot passed the talented netminder. Emilee Adami '19 joined the scoresheet not three minutes later. Adami built up the wing and created the opportunity herself and slid it by the keeper. Adami would create an opportunity later in the half, working the ball to Patience Kum '21 in the center. Kum hit home from inside the 18 to put Taft up three. Despite not having Taft's play dip, it would be Hopkins that generate offense resulting in goals during the second period - a testament to their will and quality. Taft would have their opportunities but Kum's goal would be their last. Hopkins converted a penalty kick early in the half. The second goal for the hosts was scored with 7 minutes left in the game. The 3-2 score led to an exciting final stage but the Big Red would stay together and find a quality win on the road. Taft looks to continue this play Miss Porter's at 3:00 in Farmington.
