Loss 0-3
Girls JV came out strong for our home game against Loomis on Saturday, September 30th. The team utilized the skills worked on during the week, such as playing to feet, connecting small passes and moving of the ball, but they were met by a strong Loomis team. Early on in the game, Lily Cook had a number of phenomenal saves, letting in one goal just before the half. Annabelle Wyman had a solid second half in goal and saved a number of shots by the Loomis offense and even saw some time in at forward in the first half. In the defense, we had Cierra, Kate, Blake, Reese and Piper, rotating through and being a solid wall for the Loomis team to try to get through. In the midfield, Janse, Kyra, Hollen, Angela, Samantha, Charlotte, Julia, Olivia and Hannah worked hard to connect our defense and our offense, strategically moving the ball up the field. Up front, Annabelle, Stirling, and Charlotte attacked the goal, with a few breakaways that were just shy of getting to the back of the net. While the team wanted it, unfortunately the game ended with a 3-0 loss, with two late second half goals by Loomis. The girls are excited for their next game on Wednesday, October 4th, home again Greenwich Academy.
