There is nothing sweeter than to to take home a 2-1 victory against a storied rival on their home field, after experiencing a loss against them earlier in the season (1-6), on an even more fraught and competitive Hotchkiss Day; the Taft Rhinos were able to taste that sweet, sweet victory. Facing a deficit at the end of the first half, having lost a key defender to an ankle sprain, and being down a goal, the Rhinos vowed to step onto the field the second half and come up with a win. The girls refused to lose. Scintillating soccer scored the day, comely 1v1 advances, awesome through balls, excellent possession, and disciplined composure found the tables turning almost immediately at the referee's whistle. Clinical shooting from Captain Kyra McNerney and standout midfielder Samantha Ouelette saw the Rhinos with the lead. The team was able to hold off the Bearcats for the rest of the half, thus soaring to victory. An amazing 2017 season, filled with joy, laughter, dancing, singing, conditioning, and plenty of snacks found the Taft Girls' JV Rhinos accomplishing most of their goals, and creating long-lasting memories. The Rhinos ended the season with a record of 7-7-2.
