Taft 3 (9-3) Greenwich Academy 0 Set 1 25-15 W Set 2 25-18 W Set 3 25-11 W Different players at various moments were game changers today. Addie Delafield had a run of great service points to bring us back from a 0-9 deficit. When the day was done, she racked up a total 20 service points. Osi Bialunska made another one of her "pancake" saves while scoring 8 service points. Kayla Robinson hit 8 balls so hard, so fast, and with such a sharp angle that even the GA parents were impressed. Kaia Whiteley took our 80% rule to heart and scored 8 outstanding kills also. Olivia Wivestad became our first server (replacing injured Elizabeth Baratta) scoring 11 service points. Avery Comish served hard, earning 15 service points. Emily and Coco Hardy each added to the win with terrific sets and confident passes. A highlight was seeing Anna Csigirinszij serve 11 service points in front of her parents who were visiting from overseas. Zoe Kemper scored two service points and when Finley Delafield entered the game to replace her older sister Addie, there was an encouraging smile and fun sibling exchange. Anna Volentics and Francesca Nyakora held their own at the net. Overall, every player contributed to the confident and composed win. The team played in a relaxed fashion which created a fun atmosphere. There were a few laughs to be had and best of all, we didn't stress out or take ourselves too seriously when we made a mistake We didn't become unraveled when we witnessed a unique toss on a serve, and we didn't get discouraged when we let GA get a bit of a lead in the second set. When these things happened, we chuckled and moved on and that helped us to win! On Monday we will have a MTD (Mentally Tough Day) to prepare us for our Home game vs Convent of the Sacred Heart.
