Choate Rosemary Hall
Win 3-2
The girls jv squad played an amazing match today away against a talented Choate squad today, and ended up with the win. It took five games to best the Boars, but Taft was able to take the first game easily, 25-10. The second game was more challenging, but Taft was able to pull out a victory 26-24. Games three and four saw Choate coming out on top, which meant that Taft would be playing our fifth FIVE GAME match this season (this must be a record for the jv team!). Taft was able to outplay Choate with its energy and its serving. Taline Almasian '19, as she has all season, stepped up to the line and served five straight points to help Taft come away victorious, 15-8. It was a brilliant display of hard work and the desire to win the game. Ellie Ketchum '20 fully returned to play after an absence and was able to contribute at the serving line as well as right side defense. Annabel Firestone '20 provided a much needed energy and spark in the middle of the offense, and Sofia Gatti '21 continued to play stellar defense to keep us in some hectic points! Taft heads into Hotchkiss Day with a 10-3 record and looks to avenge a tough five game match loss earlier in the season. Stats for today's game are below: Aces: Taline Almasian '19: 12 Shealyn Kennedy '19: 4 Sarah Sawyer '20: 3 Tiffany Tam '20: 3 Kills: Posey Durling '21: 4 Maile (the flying Hawaiian) Kuyper '20: 3 Blocks: Posey Durling '21: 4 As usual, manager Jayden Thompson '19 was an integral part of the team's victory today.
