Hotchkiss came to play and had the better of it for stretches in each period, especially the second with 15 shots on the Taft net. Melody McAtee played a great game and kept the Rhinos in it more than a few times. Madeline Meister put Taft up late in the game 1-0 with a steal behind the net and a quick wraparound that snuck in. With just over two minutes to play, Hotchkiss won an offensive zone face off and punched in a close shot off the post to tie the game 1-1. Within the next minute, Taft won a neutral zone face off, and Libby Dolan sent the puck to Cori Dorr, who carried it wide, got a half step on the Hotchkiss "D" and put a backhand off the far post and in to make it 2-1. It was a very well played final game for both teams and at both ends of the ice. Shots were 32 (H) to 18 (T), thought the Hotchkiss goalie stymied us on three or four breakaways. The line of Long, Howie and Dorr skated very well, forechecked hard, and kept the puck in the Hotchkiss end whenever they were out there.
