Win 6-1
GJV tennis defeats Deerfield 6-1 Finally, a perfect day for tennis! Sunny, 65 degrees and little wind. The Rhinos took on Deerfield at home down a few players. We were missing #1 Abby who was home for the weekend, #3 Julia with a knee injury and #2 doubles player Nina. Despite being down some key players, the GJV team rose to the new challenges and positions and played their best tennis of the season. Paula was her usual steady self and won solidly at #1, Sophie at #2 lost her first set but played a flawless second set. She lost the tie breaker to decide the match but should feel really good about how she played, Addie has nicely settled into playing singles and won easily at #3, and Elvira playing her first singles match of the season showed she has depth and consistency. All three doubles teams worked very well together, played consistently and let their opponents make the mistakes. Practices are paying off and all players should feel great about their games today! Singles: #1 Paula W 6-2, 6-1 #2 Sophie L 3-6, 6-2, 4-10 (tie breaker) #3 Addie W 6-1, 6-1 #4 Elvira W 6-0, 6-4 Doubles : #1 Anna and Perry W 6-3, 6-1 #2 Michelle and Lucy W 6-2, 6-3 #3 Marion and Stallard W 6-2, 6-2 Season record 3-0 Next match is Wednesday, April 18th, away at Sacred Heart
