Boys' Soccer - JV
Overview
Overview
The JV boys' soccer team seeks to help young men develop lasting commitments to sportsmanship, personal discipline, and team spirit. A tradition of success informs the work each squad does throughout a season; that is, players understand their efforts are part of a Taft program with a winning mentality and they, too, can contribute to that identity. The coaching philosophy is grounded on the assumption that any player willing to work hard, play fair, and take instruction can become a candidate for varsity. At the same time, JV players begin to see more clearly the individual roles they can assume to make their team better. In all respects, Taft JV players understand themselves as participants in a larger endeavor: stewarding Taft soccer in a sporting, winning fashion during the brief years they have the privilege to play.
